Ky Group Helps Take Chill Out of Home Heating
Kentuckians who are facing utility disconnection or running low on heating fuel can apply for relief through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).  Congress has awareded $44 million to Kentucky to run the LIHEAP program, which is less than the $57 million Kentucky spent last year in energy-assistance benefits.  The crisis component of the federally funded LIHEAP program began on January 4 and will operate until funds are exhausted.
