Services Available
Services Audubon Area Community Services provides include:

• Child Care Assistance Program – Subsidized child care for low-wage workers
• Child Care Resource and Referral – Provides a list of qualified child care providers to parents
and provides training for providers
• Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) – Provides services to address poverty based
on community need
• Demand Side Management – Creates/develops energy conservation programs through partnerships
• Energy Assistance – Subsidy/Crisis Programs help maintain family stability
• Family Day Care Homes – Daycare services
• Family Preservation Program – Provides services to prevent out of home placements for children
• Head Start/Early Head Start/Migrant Head Start – Provides comprehensive education,  health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families
• Housing – Section 8 subsidized apartment units for low-income families and seniors
• Housing Services – Provides referral and placement
• Kentucky Works Program – Provides services to TANF recipients including job development
and placement
• Owensboro Regional Recovery – Part of Recovery Kentucky providing services to low-income men
• Scholarship Program – Provides financial assistance (books, tuition, childcare, etc.)
• Self-Sufficiency Program – Comprehensive case management services
• Senior Services: Foster Grandparent Program – Assists children with identified special needs
• Senior Services: Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Provides opportunities for older  
adults to volunteer in communities
• Senior Services: Senior Community Employment Service Program
• Senior Services: Senior Companion Program – Seniors provide friendship/companionship to a
frail peer to help maintain independence
• Transportation Services: JARC – Job Access/Reverse Commute
• Transportation Services: New Freedom – Transportation program for the disabled at reduced rates
• Transportation Services – Provides non-emergency medical transportation to physicians,
hospitals, employment, child care, socialization and therapy sessions as well as para-transit services
• Weatherization – Winterizes homes to lower energy consumption and heating costs
• WinterCare – Assists those in need with their utility bills
