Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency

The Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency service area covers Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor and Wayne counties. Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency was Incorporated as a 501 (C)3 Non-Profit, Non-Stock Corporation in October 1973. Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency is a private, non-profit organization, which operates a wide range of social service programs.

 

Service Area: Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne

Services Available
Services Lake Cumberland CAA provides include:

• Community Collaborations for Children (CCC) – Promotes the safety, wellbeing, and stability of children and families through supervised visitation, family team meetings, in-home intervention, and parenting education
• Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) – Provides services to address poverty based on community need
• CSBG Youth Program – Provides services to children to enhance out-of-school curriculum to increase their self esteem
• Dunbar Intergenerational Center – Houses the Head Start, senior centers and  Alzheimer’s respite centers
• East Cumberland Estates – Provides housing for low-income elderly and disabled individuals
• Educational Scholarship Program – Provides support for CSBG clientele who are attending post-secondary educational programs
• Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) – Emergency food, clothing and housing services
• Employment Services – Helps participants secure and maintain meaningful employment
• Energy Assistance – Subsidy/Crisis Programs help maintain family stability
• Garden Seed Program – Provides garden seeds to individuals to improve overall family health/nutrition
• Head Start/Early Head Start/Migrant Head Start – Provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families
• Healthy Marriage – Provides relationship enhancement curriculum to individuals/families to improve family functioning
• The Kentucky Vision Project – Verifies patients’ eligibility for the program
• Kentucky Utilities’ Home Energy Assistance Program – Subsidized utility program to help maintain family stability
• Weatherization – Winterizes homes to lower energy consumption and heating costs
• WinterCare – Assists those in need with their utility bills
• Westbrook Apartments – Provides housing for low income elderly and physically challenged individuals
• Youth Mentoring Initiative – Youth mentors serve as volunteers to assist Head Start children in the classroom
