LIHEAP NOTICE

Funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program may be significantly reduced this heating season. Many people who benefited from the program last year may not be able to receive assistance this winter. Households where there are vulnerable people, particularly the elderly, those with disabilities and small children are being advised to take the following steps:

A)    Explore the possibility of setting up a budget payment plan with your energy provider.

B)    Consider taking advantage of an energy efficiency program provided by your energy provider or your local Community Action Agency.

C)    Practice energy conservation.

D)   Exercise good saving habits and find out about possible personal and family budget    counseling available at your local Community Action Agency.
