Take Action - 5 things you can do to Help Change Lives in Kentucky

Learn About Poverty

Learn about Poverty: Learn more about poverty and how it affects everyone. Understand that a person can have a job, be educated and still live in poverty. Discover new ways to reduce the effects of poverty through education, stabilizing families and creating better jobs.

Advocate: Tell others how poverty affects them and what they can do about it. Explain to them what is meant by the "working poor"- people who have jobs that don't pay enough to support their family. Discuss the plight of elderly who have to decide each month between medical care, heat, electricity, and food. Advocate

Support: Support the efforts of your local Community Action Agency through tax-deductible contributions. Know that your donations benefit people right here in Kentucky.

Volunteer Volunteer: Spend time helping families in need through organizations in your community. Spend time helping local civic organizations, charities, churches and you local Community Action Partnership Agency.
