Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).

The federal Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is flexible dollars that can be used locally for the most critical needs.  CSBG funds may be used to support activities that are designed to assist low-income, elderly, migrant or seasonal farm workers, or homeless individuals and families to become self-sufficient.  
   
The agencies provide a variety of programs and implement numerous strategies to address the individual’s and community needs including:    
   
  • Employment and Training
  • Child Care
  • Budget Counseling
  • Senior Services
  • GED
  • Adult Basic Education
  • Housing
  • Weatherization
  • Case Management
  • and more.
  •    

    All 23 Community Action Agencies in Kentucky are receipiants of this grant and use the funds to help their local communities.
